TYPES OF STOCKS
The choice of paper you choose for your printing is very important on determining how successful your printed marketing campaign will be viewed. Feel is the first sense stimulated when you pickup a printed promotional advertising message. If it feels thin and cheap, your first impression is -this is garbage- and your fantastic offer is never be noticed.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LB. and PT. IN MEASURING PAPER
Paper thickness and weight can be confusing.PAPER STOCK Paper is manufactured in large rolls and has to be cut into standard sheet sizes. Paper distributors can cut standard size sheet into smaller press size sheets. Paper weight is measured in reams (500 sheets of paper) of a standard size, known as basis weight. The standard size for 100 Lb. gloss book weight, (also known as text weight) is 25 X 38 so 500 sheets weigh 100 lbs. Stock is measured as a fraction of the basis size by 1,000 sheets, or in printer speak, Roman numeral M weight. For example, an 8.5 X 11 flyer printed on 100 Lb. weighs approximately 19.68 Lbs.
CARD STOCK In printer speak point (PT) is used to described an individual sheet of card stocks thickness and is measured by caliper (thickness) with a micrometer. The higher the point size the thicker the card. 14 PT card stock measures .014 inches thick. They is firm in the hand and denotes quality when it is received. Color Printing Pros offers heavier 16 PT, .016 as an extra heavy card stock option for the same price on most card products. Both of these card stocks are sturdy and resist bending and tearing. Cards with 14 or 16 PT thickness are perfect for business cards and postcards.
FYI: Many online printing services offer 10 and 12 PT business cards and postcards. These weights are thin and generally feel cheap. They are not impressive to the touch and don not provide the bang for the buck that heavy 14 PT and extra heavy 16 PT cards do for about the same price.

14 point card stock is a heavy durable card stock that has glossy coating on both sides. Although some in the print industry use 10 or 12 point for their card stock, (which may seem acceptable) 14 point is better. Our 14 point is our standard thickness for a business card and postcard stock. It is thicker and perfect for all card printing. Our HEAVY 14 POINT card stock is also commonly used for Rack Cards, Club cards, Greeting Cards, Rolladex Cards, Bookmarks, Door hangers and more.
16 POINT (EXTRA HEAVY )card stock is available as a FREE UPGRADE from 14 Pt, just for the asking. Our 16 point cardstock is the thickest card stock on the market. Most online printing companies do not offer this extra value service. Our 16 point cardstock is the thickest card stock on the market. Many printers offer 10 or 12 point card stocks - These are thin & flimsy in comparison.
PLASTIC Cards are very durable and printed on 20PT Plastic- Opaque White, Frosted and Clear stocks. With these cards, standing out from the crowd is achieveable! Please note when designing, Frosted cards are transparent

100 LB GLOSS BOOK is a standard quality paper stock finished with a gloss two-sided coating. This stock is thicker than the average magazine paper and the coating allows this paper to perform better on press for color and detail. 100 lb. Gloss Book is commonly used for flyers, brochures and the inside pages of catalogs. Although some printers use 80# gloss text, our standard 100 Lb. Gloss is 25% thicker and heavier, and has a more substantial feel, usually used for higher quality printing. 100lb gloss book is an excellent choice for restaurant menus, brochures, sell sheets, leaflets, and much more. 100 LB Gloss Cover stock is a high-quality, thick paper stock that is excellent for those who want a thicker weight. As a "cover" stock, this paper is stiff, more like a postcard or baseball card. Our 100 Lb GLOSS COVER is coated with a FREE AQUEOUS finish - making photographs and other images look beautiful. Standard uses for 100 Lb Gloss Cover is for durable, heavy-weight Brochures, Catalog Covers, and Product Spec Sheets.
70 LB PREMIUM UNCOATED TEXT is a white smooth opaque that is perfect for customer that want a smooth surfaced business letterhead and/or envelope.
70 LB SUPERIOR LINEN stock is 30% recycled paper that has a rich feel and texture. Linen letterheads and/or envelopes are sure to make an excellent first impression Recycled linen is also available for your letterhead and/or envelope. Together they make truly distinctive stationary. Perfect for green printing.
LenTek is a Lenticular product that allows you to have two or three different pictures in one. We take your images and create a swapping effect, each image vanishing and then reappearing from one to another as you move it up and down. There is a backing that can also be printed in normal 4 color process. Total thickness with both plastic LenTek� viewer and backing is 21 PT. Only the front side will have the LenTek� effect.
Our HEAVY 17 POINT MAGNET stock has a glossy UV finish. This glossy UV finish reflects back light and makes colors appear richer and more vivid. The UV finish also adds protection and helps to prevent fading.
